YOGA
...making the body disappear!
It sounds like Eastern mysticism to say we practice asana to make the body disappear, but all it means is that yoga helps to keep the body out of my way. I don't notice the body when it's functioning smoothly, but as soon as pain or discomfort occur, it gets in the way of everything else I need to get done.

Yoga is easily misunderstood as athleticism or extreme poses, but it's actually an internal medicine; a process of stimulating, tuning and rebalancing body systems for optimal health; retaining youthfulness for longer into old age.
It's a gentle, non-competitive process for exploring what is, working with what can be, developing our fullest potential; discovering renewed energy, vitality, and joy.

Yoga practice creates a well-rounded complement of strength, flexibility, and postural balance: keys to retaining the body's youthful resilience, vitality and agility.

Direct benefits include:

-
stimulating bone strength along every axis of movement
-
retaining the full range of motion, keeping us mobile
-
correcting postural deficiencies which develop as we age
-
helping promote healthy organ function
-
regulating hormonal balance, helping stabilise emotions
-
improving coordination and balance, developing proprioception & spatial intelligence
